Dr. Franco E. Vigna M.D.|M.P.H.|FAAOS

Dr. Franco E. Vigna is the founder and surgeon at reVive Spine Center. Dr. Vigna is recognized for his exceptional skill, empathetic approach, and overall competency in this rapidly expanding practice.

Dr. Vigna was born in New York City and lived on Long Island, NY until his family moved to Connecticut, where he spent most of his childhood. Growing up, he excelled in academics and sports. Dr. Vigna's path to medicine was a bit different than most. He began his post-college career in the finance industry. Although working in finance was rewarding for Dr. Vigna, he desired to help people in a more meaningful way. When his father became ill and was hospitalized, he observed the empathy shown and the care provided to him. This is what led Dr. Vigna to decide it was time for a change.

He decided to follow in the footsteps of his father and mother (an anesthesiologist and OR registered nurse, respectively) and devoted his life and career to medicine. Prior to medical school, he also worked as an emergency medical technician and a home health aide, which further solidified his decision to pursue a medical degree. While he was accepted to many medical schools, he chose Tulane University Medical School and rapidly completed his doctoral degree in medicine, as well as a Master’s Degree in Public Health.

As he progressed through his medical training, Dr. Vigna took a strong interest in orthopedics and spine surgery because he wanted to help people regain their normal lives and activities. He has years of experience and training, including multiple spinal surgery fellowships. During his time completing his Maryland Spinal Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship and the Nuvasive Luiz Pimenta Fellowship, Dr. Vigna studied cervical and lumbar disc replacement and minimally invasive spine surgery before the procedures' approval in the United States. Dr. Vigna now uses this knowledge to provide spine care to patients from all areas of the United States. He has treated patients from throughout the country, including Alaska, Long Island, and Florida, as well as Canada.

Well beyond his surgical skill-sets, Dr. Vigna prides himself on developing a deep connection with his patients. An authority on spinal surgery, he is the author of many articles on spine surgery in industry publications and has presented at spine meetings, both nationally and internationally. He is also a powerful advocate for our veterans and displays the largest American flag in Niagara county in front of his practice.

Dr. Vigna is a family man and is happily married to his wife, Sephra. He lives with his wife and three children in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Vigna is also focused on personal physical fitness and participates in triathlon events. Fully committed to his practice and his patients, Dr. Vigna is now a "true Western New Yorker" who loves the region.
